Brass clips were often made and supplied by the same manufacturers of seal presses and office products. Not only used to organize papers but a necessity as only fans existed early on and would scatter paper.
As with seal presses, these kept engravers busy making master molds.

Krauss Bros clip came in different wood product variations.
I have a Todd protectograph in white rather than office black, the only one seen to date.
Some of these are worth hundreds of dollars.
The tool steel clip had many variations
Later formed S&H Green Stamps which we boomers grew up with :)
